The third annual Jalopnik Film Festival, sponsored by Mazda, revved into LA the weekend before last for two days of cars, car movies, and the people who can’t get enough of either. The fest kicked off Friday, Sept. 25, at Santa Monica’s Barker Hangar with ride-and-drives in Mazda’s new 2016 MX-5 Miata.
A handful of drivers even had a surprise co-pilot waiting for them in the passenger seat when they hopped in: fellow car nut Adam Carolla, on hand to present his doc Winning: The Racing Life of Paul Newman. As Carolla joked, “Not every Miata comes with a C-list celebrity,” but hey — when it does, follow the example set by these superfans, and give them a good ride.
